Dear land trust supporters:

As you know, our fourth annual Spirit of the Land 
is coming up this Saturday, June 21, from 7-10 
p.m. at the State Botanical Garden. In addition 
to the beautiful artwork which is on sale 
currently at the Botanical Garden, the event this 
Saturday will feature wine-tasting by Gosford 
Wine,  music by Quarteto Grogus, and hors d?oeuvres from Five and Ten.

This event is sponsored by both the Athens Land 
Trust and Oconee Land Trust to further our 
efforts to protect our beautiful natural areas. 
Tickets are $40 in advance  and are on sale at 
both land trust offices, Gosford Wine, Homeplace 
Gifts, and online at

Tickets at the door will be $50.



An auction (both live and silent) will feature 
gift certificates, beach houses, mountain 
retreats, and much more. This year we wanted to 
let people know about some of these exciting

well as the artwork that is part of the exhibit. 
Please note that the artwork is for sale at a 
price set by the artist and is not part of the auction.

1.       Celtic Quartet: a gourmet dinner for 
6-20 people on the wooded patios of Earthsong, 
accompanied by live Celtic music, $300 minimum bid

2.       A  weekend stay in the cabin of Nick and Jane Bath, $300 value

3.       A weekend stay in a North Carolina mountain cabin

4.       3 Rolfing Sessions with Neal Anderson, Certified Rolfer, $320 value

5.       Weekend Homebuilding School at Southface Energy Institute

6.       Special Workshop for Eight at Good Dirt, $160 value

We are giving people the opportunity to bid in 
advance on some of these items. If you aren?t 
able to attend the event, you can still support 
the land trusts? work by bidding.  If you would 
like to bid, please call the Athens Land Trust 
office at 706-613-0122. We will take your name 
and contact information, and request a credit 
card number to formalize your bid. Advance 
bidding will close on Friday, June 20th, at 5 
p.m. and bids will again be taken at the Saturday 
evening event! You might be outbid later but it?s 
worth a try for these great items!
